OPENING/PRESS VIEW Thursday 12 October 1pm

First showing anywhere of Victor Sloan’s new large scale photo works based on images of Orange marches in July and August of 1988/89 in the city of Derry.

Latest in an ongoing body of photo images wherein Victor Sloan has been exploring the context of his own particular community in Northern Ireland, in and around Portadown where he now lives and works, and Dungannon where he was born.

Sloan has regularly exhibited his work regionally and internationally, and is one of an emerging generation of Northern Irish artists who place themselves and test their work in a wider constituency.

An illustrated publication with texts by James Odling- Smee and Gerry Burns accompanies the exhibition. Available from the Orchard Gallery @ £3.00 plus p+p.
